30 Day Book Challenge
Day 04 - A guilty pleasure book
Paris Never Leaves You by Adreana Robbins. The funny thing is I don’t really like this book. It’s not really my kind of book. I bought it in high school on a whim, during the height of my “French stuff is totally awesome” phase while I was failing to learn the language. The story is silly, interesting, but silly, and so wholly unrealistic for 99.97% of the world’s population that it is very nearly not worth reading. Except that it is still a coming of age story - and they’re very nearly always interesting. Life takes our heroine down a ridiculous path and she uncovers shocking family secrets and has a crazy, unbelievable life experience of her own before finally figuring out adult life and reaching a new level of maturity. And when I was sixteen I totally thought it was glamorous and read it more than once.
Also: Paris is passe, but it never leaves you.
