Day 09 - A book you thought you wouldn’t like but ended up loving

Cannery Row by John Steinbeck. I might not go so far as to say I “love” this book (I’m not even finished reading it), but I’m certainly not hating it quite so much as I hated The Grapes of Wrath or Of Mice and Men. Perhaps it’s because it’s been ten years since I read the other two and have grown and matured and actually understand what I’m reading, perhaps it’s just better than the other two. I’ll be writing quite a diatribe about this book as soon as I’m done, but it’s well known that I did not think I would like this book when I started reading it, but it’s pretty safe to say that I don’t hate it now that I’m in the thick of it.
