I don’t mean to be an ass (not really, not this time) but people have read The Host?

Is it any good? Is it worth reading? Does it not make you want to jab pointy things into a voodoo doll that looks like an aged Michelle Trachtenberg? I mean people said Twilight wasn’t that bad (liars) and I went along with it, so what’s the deal? She’s getting her sixth movie out of it in 2013: Is the book really any good?
